Hmmm so I "only" ran 13.1 miles during Saturday's 10/6 Norwegian Half Marathon. The best thing about this half marathon compared to the other two official ones (NYC and Queens) I did during this training is that all the finishing runners got a yummy salmon and Norwegian cream cheese bagel at the end. Running for Norway has definitely been one of my favorites. :) Norwegian waffles were served as well but we didn't want to wait in line. :/
My net time was surprisingly my best time for a half considering the humidity and heat - 2:12:29 like a 10:06 min/mile. I am happy with that. Don't want to die out there... I swear around mile 8 I had to stop and walk for a minute though and a few more times. It was too hot and humid, and there were only fluid stations every 3 miles. I feel bad for the Chicago Marathoners. It must have been really hot there. Hopefully it won't be as hot in San Francisco and they'll have plenty of fluid stations.
Anyways, now this is part of the "taper" from that ridiculous 21.4 mile long run. I let my body, rest, repair as I prepare for the marathon which is only in 11 days! I promise to eat and drink well. :)
