5 Miles with my sister in Massachusetts over the weekend at my parents. We did my parents' neighborhood 5 times. That's right. There is a loop there that is about 1 mile if you add a house. In the boondocks of Massachusetts, it was actually quite nice to run there. The air is cleaner. Seriously no traffic, no people. I think we saw a total of 5 moving cars on the road during the entire run. The best part is that the houses are like New England style. Each house has a yard, with shutters, and mailboxes. Yup that's MAILBOXES with the little flag that goes up signaling the mail lady or man that you have mail for them to pick up.
We used my parents' mailbox to stash bottles of water. ;)
The good news is I felt good. The neighborhood is mostly flat. It wasn't humid. Oh yea, my parents have lived in the same house for the last 30 years, so it was quite inspiring seeing that my sister and I could actually do it 5x when growing up we could barely do it once or twice - that's 2 miles flat.
I am also changing my running style to strike mid- to front-. I didn't think I was a heel striker, but I want to take all pressure off my right heel. The slightly bad news is that I have a shin splint in my left leg. It's lingering. I think I was compensating for it when the whole calcaneus accident happened. I will have to ask Michael the PT about that when I get back to New York. :|
